What new releases are you looking forward to?

I am sure this thread has been started before but...What new releases are you looking forward too?

I'll start the ball rolling...

Has anyone had a chance to listen to it yet, is it worthwhile?

Now, with this thunderous and confident new album, musical promises are delivered in the form of a blistering effort that throttles, dazes and exhausts in all the right ways.

Hi Osprey,

I have this one - standard buy as longterm fan. I have to say that I am not really fond of the album. A wall of music with the usual traits we know througout the years. Not exiting enough and I am starting to turn away from them.

Sad that I have to unsubscribe the topic. That number of posts in such a short period of time triggering emails is unacceptable. Thanks.

Apologies Mike.

I was just trying to let folk know about up and coming releases with individual posts as I got criticized by some members once for putting all the album covers in one post.

No point in posting anymore in this thread.

Thanks for the comment Bert! I may need to reconsider the purchase then or at least have a listening first.

ewemon,

This is Mike's problem if he is so disturbed by the emails he should indeed stop following the topic or even better to disable the notifications altogether.

I for one am very interested in all fresh suggestions concerning new releases (regardless if they suit my taste in the end). So keep them coming...

Ewemon, don't apologise, you are most certainly allowed to post what new releases you are looking forward to in a thread entitled 'what new releases are you looking forward to.'

Dream Theater self titled.

I purchased the Dream Theater album last week and am enjoying it, well worth the punt.

Airbag's new album is out in November, the first album was a belter and second not bad either. Wonderful, melancholy, and kind of like Porcupine Tree at their mellowest........

Okay, now I am curious. I might have to buy this after all to give it a try.

Do some pre-listening. I am a fan for almost 20 years and I was not totally impressed by the album, it was for me a wall of music and a lot of combinations of known tricks.... It doesn't mean that I wouldn't have bought it and also not that I suggesting you shouldn't - but it's for me not a typical blind buy..

This is indeed something I am looking forward to also

Airbag are continuing their journey through atmospheric sounds and serious topics, creating cinematic pictures and bringing out emotions, pulling the listener into their world. ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ is a cohesive album with strong emphasis on musical themes and arrangements. The listener is treated to a wide sonic experience, from massive walls of sound to ambient textures and soulful soundscapes. The lyrics deal with the individual and its growing feeling of alienation and distrust in society and the established authorities. At the same time, we are manipulated and kept in a comfortable state of mind, believing we’re in control of our self-centered lives.

Yes - this is one of these CD's which I definitely will first listen before bying. I have almost all of Keith, but almost also tells it - not everything :-)
