Lucinda Williams reissues critically acclaimed 1988 Rough Trade album. Out-of-print for 10 years and 25 years since its original release, the remastered two-disc, 25th anniversary release of Lucinda Williams Rough Trade album contains new photos, liner notes, an unreleased live concert from 1989 in addition to previously released bonus material. The album is being released though her own newly-formed imprint to be marketed and distributed by Thirty Tigers. Lucinda has begun recording for her first independent release through Thirty Tigers, expected late spring/early summer 2014.

Following their debut award-winning album Moonfire, Boy & Bear released Harlequin Dream, their bold and brave 2013 album recorded in their hometown of Sydney at legendary Alberts Studio and mixed by Phil Ek (Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse). The lead single, "Southern Sun," has a powerful urgency not unlike the best of Bruce Springsteen or Fleetwood Mac, while a sprinkling of strings and brass brings life and color to such standouts as "Back down the Black," "Old Town Blues" and "Stranger." Boy & Bear's debut record Moonfire won five ARIA awards, including Album of the Year.

After a steady build up of stateside buzz and support, Kettering, England's favorite psychedelic sons Temples are announcing their debut full-length, Sun Structures. It's a record that's destined to set out the band's stall as Britain's premier retro-futurists, with influences ranging from '60s psychedelia to Motown, glam, and Krautrock, all viewed through a very modern kaleidoscope - and always keeping the song at the heart of it all. Recorded in the box-room of guitarist/vocalist James Bagshaw's home, the aim was "Jack Nitzsche on a DIY budget," and with one listen to first single off the record, "Mesmerize," it's pretty clear that they've succeeded.

Produced by and co-written with John Leventhal, this album marks Cash s Decca/ Blue Note debut.
The River & The Thread is Rosanne Cash s first album in more than four years. Cash wrote the album s 11 original songs with her longtime collaborator (and husband) John Leventhal, who also served as producer, arranger and guitarist.
With The River & The Thread , Cash turns her attention to American lives and locations. The album richly evokes the Southern landscape physical, musical, emotional and examines the indelible impressions it has made on our own collective culture and on Cash.

The River & The Thread is sweeping in its breadth, capturing a unique, multi-generational cast of characters, from a Civil War soldier off to fight in Virginia to a New Deal-era farmer in Arkansas to a contemporary Mobile, AL couple. While Cash and Leventhal found inspiration in the many musical styles associated with the South swampy Delta blues, gospel, Appalachian folk, country and rock, to name a few this is a completely contemporary collection. Cash s crystalline voice and Leventhal s compelling guitar work are at the heart of the album, and they bring in additional instrumentation to suit the tone of each particular song, from the delicate orchestral passages of Night School, (which nods to Stephen Foster, who also had a deep affection for the South) to the ghostly keyboards of the album closer Money Road . If I never make another album I will be content, because I made this one, says Cash of The River & The Thread , which is a marked departure from her earlier works.

Well, if today's Graun is to be believed, I'm really looking forward to the Jack White & Neil Young covers album (link here)...

The prospective tracklist allegedly features music such as Bob Dylan's Blowin' In The Wind, Tim Hardin's Reason To Believe, Phil Ochs' Changes, Gordon Lightfoot's Early Morning Rain and Ivory Joe Hunter's Since I Met You Baby. It's also likely to incorporate a version of Needle Of Death, by the late Bert Jansch

Cloud to Ground, the debut album by Minibus Pimps.

This is John Paul Jones' latest effort - a collaboration between him and Norweigian ambient musician Helge Sten.

Due out in March.
