Blimey!
Interesting. A bit 'over produced' (closest I could think of is imagine Phil Spector producing Siouxsie and the Banshees) but what a set of lungs and it's pretty dramatic stuff.

Nice
If Neil Hannon was in XTC. And wasn't Irish. And they all listened to The Kinks a lot . Ah.

Hopefully Spotify is playing though your system - I don't think it's a soundcard only type album!
I got the vinyl version which also has 320kpbs download

Rare to enjoy a first album of genius followed by a second of equally startling quality:

Minor gripe. I know the thread title no longer carries 'why' in the title but I for one would be interested in a few thoughts, impressions. I'm loving the musicality and emotion of the Portico Quartet - modern, British vernacular at its best.

Disc 3 - The scene where Brünnhilde shows herself to Siegmund is one of the highlights of Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen (which automatically makes it, for me, one of the highlights of music - period). That whole scene is carried off spectacularly on this recording.

EJ
