I wonder how many people will buy that on vinyl instead of CD? Worked for me...

I'd forgotten how good this was. Pity everything else they did was absolute toss... steve

I would agree, but disagree with the latter comment!
I have'Marchin' Already' and 'Moseley Shoals' on 45rpm double vinyl and they both sound very good!!

The ultimate Aida, with only the recording quality holding it back. In 1955, Decca were recording in glorious stereo - their La Forza del Destino from that year still sounds incredibly good today - while RCA were not only still in mono, but rather flat mono at that. The crowd / chorus scenes suffer the most, sounding as recorded behind a thick curtain. But artistically, this recording with Milanov, Bjoerling, Warren and Christoff and RCA's house orchestra under the competent leadership of Jonel Perlea has never been surpassed. A collector's item, then, best supplemented with one of the newer recordings (I have a weakness for the Maazel, with Pavarotti and Chiara).

Some fine prog has been loaded to the new Ipod for the car, to save swapping discs while driving, and also wear on the discs with the slide insert on the car.

Branded by my iTunes as 'Unknown Artist- Unknown Album', yet a Brahms Piano Trios disc masterfully played by the Guarneris.

Thanks for the links Jeff.  I'm currently coming up to the end of resonances and Bartok's Romanian Folk Dances.
