With his Guitar, Piano & Pen, Dan Gillespie Sells crafted some fine songs here...

If Dan could could hook up with Godley & Creme, a Poptastic classic would be my prediction.

Note: The Feeling - "Set My World On Fire" is theme song for BBC Cricket World Cup coverage.

Monteverdi's 8th book of madrigals (first published in 1638), in superlative performances by Alessandrini and his band. Subtitled Madrigals of War and Love, they're really all about (the pursuit of and unhappiness of being in) love. Soppy stuff?

Cheers,

EJ

The interpretation is at times desperately slow… at times far too jolly.

imho he misses the emotional implication completely with the enthuses on sadness with occasional bursts of jubilation, an upper and downer of a journey (or should that be downer and upper?)

For some reason it sounds more interesting when sampled on spotify… the CD recording may be a bit too close, has a tendency for some slight harshness.
