Anton Rubinstein's fourth piano concerto is a late romantic work, reminiscent of Rachmaninov. It's better music than its obscurity suggests, and firmly boosted into the ranks of the almost-masterworks by the finely crafted and balanced performance by the 85-year old Cherkassky. The second movement in particular is insanely beautiful. The rest of the disc is filled with the bonbons for which Cherkassky was famous.

Brilliant, as is Spike Lee's documentary 'When the Levees Broke'. A requiem for hurricane Katrina. Probably not George 'Dubya' Bush's favourite documentary, or album.
