Acquiring my appetite for the evening meal and although the big cheese picture cover may be in the right frame of mind, the musik is anything but cheesy... the Concerto Amsterdam is refined but relaxed, in four months from purchase this is my 3rd enjoyable play to start all over again from cd 1...
The pie is baking in the oven, and while the potatoes + peas simmer, i will too in a warm bubble bath with a goblet of very agreeable cabernet sauvignon : )

First listen. Bach famously never got around to scoring this music, and this group interpreted that in the broadest sense and throws in everything but the kitchen sink (well, not that bad of course...) . I was worried that the transition from string quartet to harpsichord to wind quartet to orchestra to harpsichord etc. would detract from the structure but so far I am floored, it is spectacular.
Cheers,
