Kelly had actually decided to give up playing until he met Corinne. Didn't like his last album Western Bell but thought this was quite good when I heard it last year.

Mitsuko Uchida has started recording Mozart again, this time playing the piano and the Cleveland orchestra. Recorded live but with good clarity and detail and without applause. Her approach is radically different since her first go in the 80s, much grander in scale. The first disc took me by surprise, but I've since gotten used to this different Uchida. The 20/27 has just been issued here in NL, and knowing what to expect I loved it immediately. Both are Uchida (tm) and not to be missed by her admirers.
