Gheorghiu is one of the best singers of our time, and gifted with one of the most beautiful voices ever. She's at her best in Puccini, and sings most of his arias for soprano here - very capably supported by the orchestra and their veteran conductor and joined by her then-husband Alagna for a couple of notes of Butterfly. It all makes for a recital disc that is far above the norm.

Cheers,
EJ
