Haim,

 

I think you have there the second of Nikolaeva's recordings of the preludes and fugues, from the mid-eighties. Do you know how it stacks up to her first from the 60s and most recent one for Hyperion? 

 

My own history with this work started with Ashkenazy's recording.

Inspired by Flettster ~ the only version of 'Death and the Maiden' i have (so far) ...

Highly recommendable but i also love it for the Arpeggione Sonata and in particular Praga Camerata's superb cellist, Michal Kanka! : )
