Two attractive recordings by Pires - her Bach is entertaining and well-structured, particularly the partita #1. The Chopin is a modern classic, one of my desert-island discs.

She plays in Rotterdam tonight, I am unable to attend unfortunately.

Cheers,

Long before he started making cross-over concept albums with funny names, Yo-Yo Ma recorded a fantastic Dvorak concerto with Maazel. Ma is helped tremendously by the fantastic recording, which spotlights him without drawing undue attention to this fact.
