Nice choice. I've been rediscovering all my German albums over the last couple of months as I've been compiling an iPod playlist for going to Berlin and this was amongst them. Apart from the first two Nina Hagen albums, there was stuff from Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft, Palais Schaumberg, Die Zimmermänner, X-Mal Deutschland, Neu!, Can and Kraftwerk. This morning I was listening to a Peel Session from Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle with a great cover version of "I Wish I Could Sprechen Sie Deutsch" ! Who did do the original of that? I'm sure it used to be Junior Choice favourite...

Interesting tracks from this jazz outfit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3osx1rLacw (found from a post earlier this year). Also available on Spotify.

Is this a slippery slope to becoming ???

You were right, Doug. Bavouzet's playing here is as good as his Debussy discs.

Given your choice you should have a look at Ideal and maybe Spliff, but Fehlfarben "Monarchie und Alltag" should definetly be part of you playlist! I will try to get hold of a Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle :-).

Thanks Miller, I will check it out. I think about 90% of my German music is from the 1980's and introduced to me by John Peel.

For you some Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle....
