Same thing here. The album was left neglected and unheard for over two years.

A great performance of Brahms' first concerto by the incomparable Krystian Zimerman and Simon Rattle, in superb sound.

Many thanks Ewen, don't have it. Am pretty solid up to the 42xx range but have only a few in the 43xx range. A job for Darcy.

Verdi wasn't yet fully comfortable with the format of the french Grand OpĂ©ra, which resulted in a long opera with weak dramatic structure but filled to the brim with gorgeous melodies (among his best). One of Verdi's lesser known operas - but I've seen it once in performance, in Vienna with Janos Lotric, Renato Bruson and Ferruccio Furlanetto, and it does work very well in the theater.

This particular recording is brilliant.
