I was so inspired by Jour a Jour (Anon) one of the 'composite' tracks on the free cover disc cd of ‘Classic CD magazine' issue 32 December 1992, I bicycled into town the very next day and purchased the actual album, 1^st issue and full price expensive in those days...

The music itself is not sung to blow anyone’s socks off, but relaxing it is, 5 songs composed by Machaut, 1 by Solage, 1 by Pycard which appears to be the only one sung in Latin, instead of French. The other 14 songs and motets remain with anonymous composers.

Very pleasant on a atmospheric background level, true fourteenth century chill-out style, and a disc I will always want to come back to once or twice a year.

This is also the very first hyperion cd I ever purchased : )
