What are you listening to? (Vol VII)

One of my favourite tunes of the year, from one of the most consistently excellent labels around...

 Also happens to be the first track on the annual end of summer Kompakt round-up, out next week...

Two years on, I still play this all the time...

First spin. Bach's cello suites played by Dutch cellist Pieter Wispelwey, who was 28 at the time of this recording (his first). It's a fresh, positive performance, giving the impression of Wispelwey still finding his way in this music. Recommended!
