Excellent sounding CD. Sure beats old records which aren't maintained.

my first-ever listen to Patricia Barber, an artist often posted here by people I respect, time to dip my toe in the water. thanks.
How did the toe dipping go, Jeff?
Debs
Hi Debs
I enjoyed it, reminded me of past listening to Cassandra Wilson or Holly Cole back in the 90's. Arrangements were very good and it did seem "above average" sound-wise, though I was streaming on Spotify so that statement from me may not carry much validity. I am looking forward to the Cole Porter recording as he is a favorite composer from that era.

Peter Gabriel - New Blood. I thought that the Scratch My Back album was outstanding but this one, of Peter's own songs with orchestra is fine but does not grab me in the same way. These songs came across really well in concert but in the studio, I am less bothered by them. His voice though is outstanding.

I definitely prefer Scratch by quite a margin. The problem with this new one is that all these songs are in danger of over exposure, there really is nothing too new about it....
Its like the concert,
I liked part two when he did his older stuff more.
Stu.
Bob Dylan "Time Out Of Mind"
Just catching up on some of Friday's Pink Floyd stuff, the Steve Lavine's choices and BBC sessions. Didn't Floyd produce some crap in the early days? Childish lyrics, thankfully they put that behind them.
City and Colour "Little Hell"
thanks, Stu. first listen and sounding good.

Howard,
Some might call it crap.
I love the early childish( as you put it) lyrics and music.
They still paint wonderful pictures in my head when i listen, all these years later.
