Wow what good albums folks are listening to ... Something Else By the Kinks, Barrett and Piper (three good 'uns) which brings me to listening to three of a perfect pair

Not this ain't half a good album and I mean that most sincerely: Crimso could easaily have had hits from the left side of this. .... the right half is not too good, a bit too industrial for me or in other words a horrible noise, but the first side is fantastic. King Crimson sounding more like Talking Heads than David Byrne at times. Of course this version has bonus tracks and how I love bonus tracks: three needless remixes of sleepless and two pieces played on a drill (yeah - thanks for the other side). Oh it is called the left side and the right side on vinyl and so the bonus stuff on CD is called the other side.

This disc of Beethoven miniatures came right behind Brendel's third set of the complete Beethoven sonatas. All new recordings, with the curious exception of "Für Elise" which was lifted from an earlier disc. Great performances all round: Brendel is more playful than Stephen Kovacevich, and brings a much richer sonority to these works than Wilhelm Kempff.

Bilbao 1976. The sound quality is not of the first order, though it does allow me to hear them improvising live in their heyday.
