 On Vinyl

Posted on: 30 October 2011 by kuma

Just waiting it to end. Or hoping something good would happen in the 4th movement. :x

This is dull.

Currently up to record 3 but very concerned about the poor quality of pressings, record 1 has too much surface noise, pips, pops, a very annoying crackle that comes n goes, plus a very slight warp.

Record 2 has the audience cheering between tracks which helps to cover over the pips and pops, and this record is better, the music is very good, seems like a nice recording with the depth of atmosphere (although finding the crown noise irritating) I’m only just starting (and trying) to warm to it but this vinyl is now very subject to my narrow eyed and gritted teeth scrutiny.

Record 2, side B, pip… pop… pip… pop… pip… POP! (blimey that was a big one!)

Pip… pop…  orchestrated surface noise continuo ~

Record 3, side A, starts off with a click... click... click

The music is fantastic but Columbia (record label) must be having a laugh

The dynamics of Emily's music make this a must buy on Vinyl. Check out Amazon etc when it becomes available. Bought my copy @ last thursdays RAH gig.

Debs,

LP one ok just a little pop and click on side A.

On LP two side A ok now on the B side fingers crossed.

Yep side B was ok.

Now on LP3 side A.

I have not been able to play much new vinyl over the last few weeks since Kate came out of hospital other than to check its flat.

I was playing the new Ozrics until i saw your post.

That double vinyl album is a stonking must have imo.
