Still, unable to get an original pressing, but this is one of my favourite Richter doing Rachmaninoff's second. ( and love his Preludes no. 23s )

The violin concerto is a strange animal - almost devoid of melody, only consisting of endless chromatic scales. It works on violin, but I can easily see how the piano wouldn't be able to cope.

Suggest you try his five 'true' piano concertos which are certainly worth the trouble. Barenboim/Klemperer did a good run but there are countless others.
