This has just moved up to number 3 on my best album list of 2011.

I can see this being my number 1 on Christmas Day.

Its just so bloody good.

It draws me in more than any other album this year.

There have been lots of good ones,

Some i play alot and cant stop playing.

But this has the Edge.

The nocturnes - Ashkenazy excels in these works, playing with mix of straightforwardness, power-on-demand and beautiful use of dynamics. The sound takes some getting used to, a bit metallic and brittle but not altogether unrealistic.
