I heard a couple of his albums a while ago. Not sure if that was one of them, though I've added it to my ever-expanding Christmas wish list! Tks

Ragna Schirmer along with eight madrigals interspersed throughout and performed to perfection by Amarcord.  One of my favourite releases of the year.  It is a fascinating journey and with the booklet notes written by Ragna Schirmer, like a diary, of the journey this makes the recording even more special.

On iPad so no pictures, sorry, listening to Oneohtrix Point Never "Replica" now. Chief and others, might be one to give a quick spin - Boomkat are bound to have samples and a review. Fact loved it I know.  Talking of which, House of Balloons was their number 1 of the year which I can't disagree with.  I do love Thursday as well though, and if Echoes of Silence sounds like Initiation all the ay through it will be very cool...

Thanks reubs, A pal of mine has mentioned OPN a couple of times to me now, and I'm sure I've heard his Returnal album from last year. I remember seeing the cover for Replica (hard to forget) so will investigate further.

Yep, Fact sure love The Weeknd. I haven't play Thursday anything like as much as House of Balloons though, and I'm not sure about 'Initiation' - I don't know, the full-on lyrics are verging on self-parody? That's probably a little harsh, and I'll still look out for Echoes of Silence. : )

The Steven Wilson remaster? I now have most of them but still need to get a few.

Not heard his album, but this Shlohmo EP from earlier this year is gorgeous:

The title track:

An earlier (less mellow) track that I just found whilst looking up that one, with the best comment I've seen posted in a while...

... "my ears are giving birth to alien babies."  (True)

I have all the KC's on the 30th Anniversary Series. I have not got this in the 40th series yet. Got put off doing that though when you came over and we did the 30th vs 40th of the Red album and the 30th won! Still I might still get the rest of the 40th's as I want the hi-res.

From The Decca Sound:

First listen to the Members of the Vienna Octet playing (CD 49):

Mendelssohn: Octet in E-flat major

Beethoven: Septet in E-flat major

and then this......

Very inspired by what I have heard so far!

Some late night Andrew Hill for me:
