Nigel, I have been listening to Nicholas Angelich and his Goldberg recording, in the car, since September (usually alternating with Paul Lewis and Beethoven's Diabelli Variations).  This Fretwork recording certainly changes the landscape a little from my daily ritual.  It is the same piece obviously but somehow on strings (or viols in this case) the piece has a totally different outcome or meaning.  It seems to be more of a social recording whereas the keyboard seems more personal and is best experienced one on one.  This is not a bad thing and is certainly a nice recording.  On certain occasions, this will be perfect but I know that most of the time I still prefer the keyboard version.

Regards,

Doug

Glenn Gould: Bach

Concerto In F Major / Partitas 1 & 2

Decent  original mono pressing.

I love his happy Bach.

She has a new album out at the moment, which is getting good reviews.
