A nice rendition of the early Jeunehomme, which is probably the highlight of the album.

No need for pickin' a fight, Doug , Perahia and Pollini happily co-exist and in fact both will play in Amsterdam next year (as well as Volodos, Sokolov and Lupu - it's going to be a great - though expensive - concert year).

Ellis Island Sound on CD. Nice soothing instrumental music by the end of the evening before bed time.

And mine - superb record along with most their albums - even the early Hotlegs Thinks School Stinks is great (Neanderthal Man is atypical of the rest of the record which is pure 10CC)

First spin of what is proving to be an excellent album. Fray at times seems to channel Glenn Gould in his jazzy approach to the faster movements, then takes a turn and transforms the slower movements into a romantic piano concerto. But he sells it, and rather than attracting attention to himself, firmly places the composer in the spotlight. Thanks to Haim and Doug for recommending.

Happy to finally see 10CC mentioned!

I have loved and collected all of their records, plus all of Godley&Creme's own material, among which I treasure Consequences.

A few years ago I bought an XPS from a girl who lived near one of 10CC's Strawberry studios, an old friend of her mother had been secretary in the studio and had given the female voice to I'm not in love, or so she tried to explain to me, not knowing the band...
