Go on, you can have that one as well.

1989. Life (and music) was simpler then..

A mate of mine had an Atomic Bong in the 70s.

You would of not wanted to try and dismantle it though.

That was a famously rushed job, with Karajan and Richter falling out over tempi.

They recorded together once again over a decade later, in Beethoven's Triple Concerto (for EMI), and after that Richter refused even to use Karajan's name.

Never thought I would see a copy of the Hummingbird album being played by a member here. Used to love that disc.

That's interesting.

I have the US import version and I didn't care much for his particular set. I was expecting something good happens with such an impressive line up.

Alas, half the time it sounds like Ricther tries to keep up with the rest and all'n'all I found it somewhat *safe* for Richter as if Karajan holding him back.

Adding insult to injury, the copy I have doesn't sound that great in spite it's a tulip label.

Here's the US version reissue ( mono ) jacket.

Ewemon

stop me before we get to Cado Belle or Moon or...! Ahh good times especially...... both Moon lps. As indeed are the other two Hummingbird lps. To be fair I got bored when it moved onto Morrisey Mullen and the 80s stuff but back in 1976 there were a number of bands doing the college and pub circuit in London that were fab.

Balham Alligators, Juice On The Loose, anyone?

Purchased for 1p on Amazon Marketplace but it's worth a lot more than that - quirky cello, piano and drums jazz trio in excellent form.

Some 80's rock - a little more expensive than you purchase droodzilla, the princely sum of 99p from a charity shop in Norwich.

Great album!
