It's my favorite Haydn, I've never heard better - but I never got around to sampling some historically informed performances.

Puccini referred to his first full-length opera (Le Villi came before) as 'warmed up soup' and the subject matter 'unbelievable trash'. But the music already shows signs of greatness with pre-echoes of several later works and at least one hit moment for soprano.
