From the Chirpa family archives, a very mellow Frank on original vinyl:
Nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year... only to lose to Sgt. Pepper. Shocking.
From the back cover:
It had begun like the World Soft Championships. The songs, mostly by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Tender melodies. Tender like a two-day, lobster-red Rio sunburn, so tender they'd scream agony if handled rough. Slap one of his fragile songs on the back with a couple of trumpets? Like washing crystal in a cement mixer...
Singing so soft, if he sang any softer he'd have to be lying on his back.
A flawless album.

The "Doric" Prelude and Fugue of Bach, BWV 538, in D minor ... Helmut Walcha in mono sounds, and something to remember that we are but grains of sand on the beech of life, to be overiden twice daily by the tide of Fate. All the same and each treated to the oppotunity to fail ... or succeed ...

It's my daughter Annalise Viktoria's 18 th birthday today so thought this would be a suitable warm up before her evening out with friends. Certainly makes the housework more pleasurable

I was looking for where a music enthusiast was listening to Bach's BWV 540 F Major Prelude and Fugue, which iss in the alraady 87 pages of this thread! Unfind-able of course!
But is the best thread 0n the forum! So musch music! Most of it beyond me!
But enjoy BWV 540 if you get the chance ...
I am immersinging myself in it now ... but must starta again ...

George, if you can't find the Bach, will this do instead?
Autechre - Gantz Graf, from the ep of the same name. You can probably find it on dvd for about £80, if you prefer.

You've probably scared George so much his shaking so hard he cannot type a word in reply.

Jam Master Dean, don't worry. George has no doubt realised it's in 4/4 time, so he's probably just figuring out how to dance to it.
I forget who made the much-admired video, but it has an almost synaesthetic feel to it if you watch it in the dark on a big screen. Recommended.
