But wouldn't it damage the Naim brand if it was found that Naim had deliberately attempted to swing the result?

NAIM gate!!!
The horror of it all, CEOs bonuses, MP criminals , footballers shagging all in sight, it's right up there. Roll Eyes

I agree BigH, it's hardly All The President's Men. My commented was prompted by my experience of working in the media, where the one thing we've learnt over the last couple of years, with phone-in scandals etc. is that trust in the brand is pretty much everything.

I agree, I was being frivolous, it would seem there are not enough real stories about these days.

Yes there is a possibility of a negative backlash.

What ever happened to "no such thing as bad publicity" ?

guys come'on! you want them to win. you vote. you don't care. don't vote.

but we'd really appreciate it.

cheating would be the same person mailing from multiple addresses OR everyone at naim voting from their work email accounts!

but you guys picking the band you want to win. absolutely fine.

we don't often ask for favors! Winker

Ha Simon, some of us are old skool enough to care about the manner of the winning!

and Robert Glasper, Phronesis and John McLaughlin. Some very tough competition and all those artists produced excellent albums.

Simon - I wish you and the boys luck.

why is that poor guy being punched in his least-wanted-to-be-punched-in-area? Big Grin

not going to vote because I don't want to vote against Naim or its artists, but Empirical is a bit to "easy listening elevator-music" for my taste.
maybe Naim will sign a hard rock band some day Winker

Some of you ought to see what we did in the 70's to get artists like Queen, Madonna etc to the Top of the Charts.

This is nothing and every other label will be doing exactly the same thing only better than NAIM.

Well, I've voted. I discovered them through the Naim label and found their second album mesmerising.
Asking Naim not to do this would be a bit like saying political parties shouldn't knock on your door at a General Election.
(Oh, hang on there.....)

I found it more meandering than their first but if you want mesmerising, grab a copy of The Jazz Warriors last album 'Afropeans'. A bit of googling also reveals two members of Empirical (Jay Phelps and Nathaniel Facey) were part of the 15 man crew that played the live set the album was recorded from.

Brilliant stuff. Cool
