Maturity

What constitutes maturity?

I have my reasons for asking this, but don't want to appear too grumpy!

But,

I feel myself at odds with many people who while seeming academically intelligent, don't really come across (to me anyway) as particularly grown up. Is this all part of a selfish 'me me me' culture?

I sometimes feel like I'm surrounded by people whose attitude is 'I know best and that's that' - not very mature surely?

Indeed. And there aren't many surprises of THAT sort.

Maturity..well all I know is that the physical body, the "outside" so to speak, begins to creak & groan. I can attest to that. The "inside" or mind is a different matter. If your lucky it remains positive, outward looking, able enough to view the antics of the young with wry amusment, saddened but not demoralized by the descent into selfishness that seems necessary armour for survival. Relaxed enough to finally step outside the competitiveness that drives the professional world of younger co-workers, but most of all knowing when to duck, to avoid the flying missiles of arrogance and how to manouver round the landmines the immature are constantly stepping on in their blinkered pursuit of "erehwon"

Cheers

I'm happy (relatively speaking of course) that I'm not you too, because then I would be really miserable.
