Martin Jol saga (Is it me?)

One has a manager of a fair Premiership outfit who gets you 5th place in the league 2 years running. He is then given a bucketfull of wonga to spend on fine players over the summer. The predictions from many football pundits are that the Team should make Top 4 (at the expense of..................?). The manager has a few of his creme de la creme injured for the start of the season. In the first game of the new season his team play admirably but loose in the last minute to a stunning strike from a rising new star of the Premiership playing for a tightnit side who know their wives are back home with the Next directory, cleaning the house, looking after the bairns and getting the lads tea ready for the moment he schleps in from work. A blip in the top four masterplan.

2nd game of the season they had a bit of a drubbing by a side chaired by a theatre empressario. Its the rub of the game. Third game they Tw*t derby fowr nowt and are now running mid table.

In the mean time they offer a plastic swimming pool full of the folding stuff to another coach to come and take over from the existing rather succesful one. He declines and the Club look lame.

OK the existing coach doesn't look like Jose Mourino (see below) or sound like Frank Sinatra but he seems to be doing a cracking job.

Is it me or is there less strategic planning here than Real Madrid with an unlimited balance on a Platinum AMEX................. Jeez
