Naim speakers angle

Posted by: Lightkeeper on 09 December 2002

Hi !

Just experimenting about toeing with my new Intros these days and found best position paralell with back and fron walls, which means flat to the listening position. I have also found many Naim setups on net and (as I remember) all users have Intros, SBLs and other Naim speakers paralell with back wall even they are not close to wall in most cases. I am just interesting about you forum members/Naim speaker owners how do you placed your speakers and if they are toe or not.
What are benefits of all or shortcummings?
I think that I placed them right, is that really right?
I am very interesting.

FWIW, my Kabers are positioned without toe-in, and pretty close to the back wall. If it sounds best...

Now that, dear Ozren, is beyond doubt...

Edo,

what are you doing? I tied my hands to the back of my chair, since every little thing I say seems to offend Ozren (and not just Ozren), and there you go!

What about those Kabers though? I almost got hold of a pair some time ago, even though my dealer told me they can be slow - but they were gone before I got to get a demo. So how do you like them?

As a slightly more junior member, I still need to learn when to hold back. Do I need to apologise to Ozren, now?

herm, I'm amazed, you actually posted ON topic!

Well, I really like the Kabers. On the downside, they're definitely power hungry and really need to be fed a solid, good quality signal. But if you feed them what they want, they'll give you some really good sounds in return. And it might be my lack of listening experience, but I found them quite fast and really detailed.

If the dealer you're talking about is the one in Rotterdam, I might actually have been the guy who ended up buying "your" Kabers...

Cheers,

Edo

Strictly speaking I should be posting about toeing in and wall hugging, but I'm trying as hard as I can. Otherwise some Higgy, Huggy or Slim will lash out at me again. Those newbies are just itching for a fight.

I could say yes, and knock on your door this very night to pick up my rightful Kabers, particularly since I've got all the power these babies crave. But in fact the pair I'd gotten wind of was in Groningen.

I expect to be rewarded for my unusual honesty: a pair of Kabers will do just fine, thank you. No need for Xmas wrapping. Also in that case I'll take care of your apologies to Ozren. So it's win win for you.
