What DVD have you just watched?

Possibly better but, unfortunately, in no way 'uplifting'.

Control - the story of Ian Curtis and Joy Division. Not depressing, just a very sad story.

Frank Darabonts version of Steven Kings The Mist. I enjoyed it in a 60s B movie sort of way but the wife thought it was absolutely laughable. The ending is a knock out though.

An episode from >Dr. House<. We have no television, and watch the few nice things that go on tv on DVD. But without surround. Also, we watch >Inspector Barnaby< on DVD, sometimes. In one of the episodes, the postal office was the one in a village where we spent two weeks last august. Nice to see it.

"Groundhog Day"

And again "Groundhog Day"

And yet again "Groundhog Day" etc etc

The Poseidon Adventure - Rutger Hauer

Very good - a news paper freebie.

This is incredible.

Ladri di biciclette.
It breaks my heart.

"No Country For Old Men"

Sucks! Has some great acting but the plot sucks! So if you have actors doing boring roles really well just imagine how boring it can be!

"Cars" was up after that. Now that's a great film. By no means is it a kids only movie. The art is great, the graphics phenomenal and the story very fun and meaningful. Highly recommended

30 Days of Night Rubbish
Asassination of Jesse James Wasn't bad a bit slow though!

Particularly average IMHO - a waste of 90 minutes music listening time

Couldn't agree more. I was amazed that this was in the cinema here in Brisbane from around September to some time after Christmas. When we saw it people were leaving saying it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen. Very 2nd rate.

Cheers

Also agree with you Jim. Enjoyed this one very much. Whether or not it was worthy of an Oscar - who knows but it probably was the best film i saw last year.

Cheers

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Don't have kids and haven't read the books but we've usually enjoyed the others, especially
the one previous to this, but this was tedium to the max.

Cheers

Scott - what puzzles me is that my wife went to see it with various friends three times at the cinema. I could hardly bare one time.

Must go and ask her what she liked about it.
Cheers

Just a slice of this

A good use of time. Not sure if this has a UK release or not but it is very popular here. Swedish Film nominated for oscar in 2005. Excellent. - As It Is in Heaven

(Different cover picture from that here in Oz)

Just finished watching the box set of:-

Danger Man SE

Only took about 4 months, but well worth watching - PGM at his best.

Scaramouche

I first saw this film when I was about eight, and have always thought it great entertainment.

Stewart Granger on top form.

M

'Secret Diary Of A Call Girl' series.

There is a fun story about it here in Sweden. It was a big succes, but the theater owners hated showing it as the "grown up" public that saw it did't buy any popcorn = No profit for the cinema!
