A bit like Alistair Sim - always ensures a core of amusement.

Ah yes Alistair Sim, as a child he used to give me the creeps, but the cynical humour in The Green Man is unsurpassed. These films age so well.

It's like looking in a mirror.

Merlin - Sam Neill

Good fun for all the family - a Daily Mail freebie.

In Bruges. I totally agree with JamieL on both the end and performances. I'd add that Ralph Finnies is great in his unpleasantness. A nice film that could have been even better.

McGregor is terrific and Zellweger is sublime. I have a connection to this era I don't completely understand - either ancestral or, perhaps, personal.

One of Samuel's better performances. A good movie. Sound mixing/editing on DVD was subpar. Videography was nice though.

This movie contains moments of pure poetry.

"All The King's Men"

Very nice movie and great chemistry between Penn and Jude Law. I thought it was very impressive which deepened my surprise when I found that rottentomatoes website has given it an awful 11% rating.

Something simple to while away a couple of hours, this fits the bill excellently.

Whistle Down The Wind.

Hayley Mills is wonderful though barely even adolescent in this.

ATB from George

If you've not seen it, try also "Finding Neverland" with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.

But what I liked is that Bond's personality really changed. He is semi evil now. Very dark. I thought that was so cool.

Just watched From Russia With Love again. Brilliant but I wish the ancillary sound wasn't so loud by comparison to the voices.

"The Usual Suspects" for the umpteenth time. What a great movie.
