Adam,
I remember it well-
"Sorry Colonel, one gets in to terrible habits at the YMCA!"
Hugely enjoyable film.

Hammer's Quatermass And The Pit. Quite good until the last ten minutes or so when it went OTT (but without the budget).

Gomorra, a film based on the book by Roberto Saviano, about the organized crime in Italy. Now I'm quite depressed.

The Story Of Us - Michelle Pfeiffer & Bruce Willis.
Exceptionally good ... far better than I'd expected (maybe it helps having been married for 25+ years and thinking how grateful we aren't in their shoes).

A film called The Thing, which is a supernatural suspense type jobby.
Not good, and scary without a reasonable reason for being so.
I like films that uplift in the way the music of Bach and Haydn do ...

I agree - this is a great movie with two master actors at the top of their game. Highly recommended.

Just watched this one for the second time earlier today (I first saw it 4-5 years ago). The twist at the end is really something and it features great performances by all the leading characters.

That's an old favourite of mine. There should be time to do a sequel now, where William Hurt is out of prison and looking up Kathleen Turner!

More a science-fiction than supernatural theme if it's "The Thing" (with Kurt Russell and some excellent special effects) I know.
Methinks you're too gentle a soul for this genré of film George...

Kurt Russell in it, yes.
It was a loaner, so not one to get for myself on DVD unlike the other one which I was given at the same time, A Knight's Tale, which is touched with good humour.

An okay Michael Caine film that's well worth watching when it comes around on the telly.
This DVD can start to gather dust on my shelf now.

Never Let Go - one of a Peter Sellers triple boxed set and interesting rather than good.
A young Adam Faith is rebellious and agonised, Sellers darkly threatening and Richard Todd almost unwatchable in his weakness and indecision.
I find British films from this period interesting in themselves - almost regardless of merit. Great sheepskin coat.
