Those who SUBSCRIBE to a magazine often receive their copy a week or so BEFORE it goes on general sale in the High street news agents outlets.
Well that's my guess...
Now james will say it wasn't a subscription copy that he read. Which will make me look reeeally silly

sorry for being ironic..but the hdx deserves more capacity...but who cares...it seems just to bother me...everyone else is happy about all the cables and nas and and and...
at least it was a hope...
No amount of internal storage will ever be enough. Your 4TB requirement will not be sufficient–and, if it affects ultimate sound quality, it's not desirable anyway.
Bite the bullet, buy a couple of NAS drives and live worry-free (mostly).

david..i don´t require 4 t bites . but maybe enough space for 1500 cd . that should be possible without quality replay problems. and wireless on board to drop this stupid cables. it should be possible these days. unity has it as well.
hdx capacity is not made for the serious listener. regarding the price tag it is a shame.
seriously. i was hoping for the radio as well. the hdx was promised as such box long ago.
so now it is definitely hdx bye bye for me.

pylod,
Don't be so negative about the HDX! Naim will release the new software which makes it possible to rip to NAS soon. I'm pretty sure internet radio will follow.
It makes no sense to release software with a lot of bugs in it. It's hard to be patient for me as well...
Regards,
Michel

How many times do we have to see another version of your not serious unless you own X amount of CD, LP whatever? Note that X always seems to be around the number the poster has.

it´s nice for you bob , if you get along with 650 cd´s..i am not.and i find 650 cd far to less...in that point hdx is a mainstream product . but what the talk : i understand, that naim can´t produce an all in one box right now.
i though admire your patience.no hdx owner was able to exceed 650 cd´s in the last 2 years since the launch of the hdx.just external ripped cd´s,but that´s not really naim quality. isn´t it ? to be really honest i would demand the radio function as compensation for that fact very soon.

Hi Pylod
Is it possible you ment serious collector not serious listner? My point was that someone with 20 CD could be just as serious a listner as someone with 20,000 CD.
I understand fully why a solution which can not hold most of your collection would not meet your needs. As any other solution will involve a NAS and option would be to wait till the (next?) upgrade which is supposed to support this. I agree the streaming radio is long overdue.
Cheers
Bob

Anyone know if they also upgraded the entire line? Did they also upgrade the hardware in the NS-01, etc?
Thanks

yes bob..you can then call it collector.....i get your point...
the hdx is a wonderful machine , i am just disappointed about it´s capacity. i wished for a one box solution without any need for attachment.i think we can leave it here.
