N-Vi Fizzing on 5 channel outputs

Posted by: mattd on 13 December 2010

Has anyone had any experience of a fizzing/fast repetetive popping from an N-Vi when 5.1 channel output is selected?

My N-Vi has recently come back from another screen replacement only to have developed this annoying problem.

It plays stereo fine and bassmix with the N-sub, but put a dvd in on 5.1 and all speakers emit a fizzing which increases with volume. It did dissapear for one film but now its back again.

Any ideas... I'll speak with the dealer tomorrow but in the interim i'm losing faith...

Thanks M (likely to be without cd's and dvd's this Christmas).

that does not sound good. have you tried a full factory reset?
if yes, then you will probably need to send it back. maybe a faulty chip.

Factory reset has done nothing for the popping and fizzing, back to Audio T again tomorrow. It doesn't look good for CD and DVD playing this Christmas!

I ran this one past the guys at Naim HQ and they confirm it will need to be looked at by them. Sorry Frown

Yes, It will be going back for the the third time in the last 12 months after Xmas. I guess its a processor related issue because playing a stereo CD is fine but any form of sound processing irrespective of input results in problems.
