NACA 5 dilemma

ok have swopped out QED silver Anni for NACA 5, running know for 24 hrs. Fantastic improvement, extened base, clear mid and treble.
Problem.
All the great improvemnts are NOT in the listening position !!!! they are to the left and right of each speaker. The listen position is DULL absoultly crap !! I have changed nothing except the cable ?
Any suggestions before the lot goes in the bin.


Sy(i)stem CD5+Hi 102+Hi+Napsc 180 Dyn 1.1 plus some preyty crap NACA 5.

Fled,

I replaced some Chord flatline cable for the Naca5 sometime ago. My opinion is that the Naca5 does give a dull sound and it certainly isn't as open as the Chord cable.

Everyone recommends Naca5 for Naim systems but I am not convinced.

I am still using the Naca5 but am very tempted to change to something else.

Yes wot Nick said, and sometimes changing something for the better seems like it's for the worse. What I mean is you may have to reoptimise your speaker positions. This has happenned for me with several mods I've made to my system. Usually it would be a matter of centimetres or the toe in of the speakers.

My especialy attentive dealer made the cable incorrectly (twisted so speak, cables not the dealer - but then again !!) should have checked, still what do you expect for £140 ?
Thanks all on track agian. I had a terrible vision of moving all the furtiture around - certain recipe for divorce, or a clout over the head at least.

This is a marvellous illustration of the importance of this forum. If it did'nt exist/you did'nt know off it's existance you would have gone back to your old cable quite convinced that NACA5 was crap.
