Just got an Ortofon 0001 direct cut Test Record from my local charity shop. Lovely music by some danish composer in the Tivoli Gardens on one side and anal-retentive test tracks on the other. Nice embossed gatefold sleeve and booklet explaining the tests and how the direct cut process works etc.
I had great fun this morning finding out that my turntable is crap. Musically sounds OK to me but fails miserably on all the tests!
