The latest Antonio Forcione on the Naim label. I already had the cd but I just wanted to find out what it really sounded like. My turntable combo is better than my cd5 and I was not dissapointed.

Catfish - Live Catfish
Blues on Two (Radio 2 series) - compilation
Muddy Waters - London Sessions

All very cheap at Norwich Record Fair.

And - I am delighted to say - I have just found and ordered (at pretty much original cost)

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left (180g Simply Vinyl)

It'll arrive at my house as soon as it gets its Visa and passport stamped.

Good listening,
James

Just been given 300 albums for nowt by my dad who has given up on vinyl after donating his LP12 to my cause.

He says he'll now be investing in CD5i/Nait5i/n-Sats.

Some of them are in a bit of a state as he hasn't played them in years and they have been getting damp in the shed.
Loads of crackles and pops etc.

There's loads of jazz, classical and prog rock in the collection so it will be well worthwhile getting cleaned up.

Last actual purchase was a mint copy of 'Transformer' by Lou Reed.

Here are some extracts

The Rigs Of Time

All Things Are Quite Silent

This sounds OK and I'm sure when I get my record player sorted out then it will sound wonderful. The CD is pretty good too BTW.

Arrived this morning. I work from home so could grab a couple of tracks before setting-to.

First impressions - sounds excellent. Much more shape and definition to Nick's vocals and guitar, than with my original (albeit second pressing) LP. Can't wait to listen to it properly when I get the chance - Friday, I reckon!!
