I really like it, although it took a good few listens for it to get under my skin.

Some great stand out tracks for me are Empire, Tiny apocalypse, Glass, concrete and stone and civilisation. I like the use of strings and the stripped back production which compliments the interesting instrument choices.

The lyrics are as funny as ever whilst at the same time catching the mood of our times. You don't need to scratch the surface too much to get a feel of his opinion of current US foriegn policy.

It is interesting the way some American artists are approaching political songwriting post 9/11. Like Rickie Lee Jones and steely dan's last efforts he gets to explore these issues without ever appearing to get on a soap box or become overly preachy.

Not like a Talking Heads greatist hits package then, but very rewarding for those who like what he has done in the past.
