there is a man in Beaconsfied that you ought to see...once you hear an Akiva, everything else sounds...well, I bought one. Sounds fab on the end of my Ekos.

You did see an Ekos I was selling on eBay a couple of weeks ago. I sold it but still have one.

Sorry, I missed this: bit of a convoluted story, so I hope you are sitting comfortably...

I have bought the odd bit of kit with a view to making a bit of a buck to finance my recent purchases, and fund for future ones. I saw a deck with an Ekos at a very reasonable price, bought it, sold the bits on at a profit. One of the planned updates I will make to my LP12 is to get my Ekos mark 1 rebuilt to mark 2 standard. This involves you retaining the counterweight and collar, sending the arm to Linn via your friendly dealer, and in effect you get a new mark 2 ( less the silver cable ) for less than half of the price of an off the shelf new one.

I am informed by Colin Macey of Martin Kleiser that the new arm is an improvement over the older mark largely because the bearings are better ( in a nutshell ). He is the Sondek Meister and I take his word for it on matters like this.

I will probably do this in June as I am away for two weeks then and so will not miss my LP12.
