Phono stage decisions

Hi

A bit of advice please.

Im fitting an SME V/ Koetsu to my Roksan Xerxes, question is how do i drive it?

Do i fit K or S boards into my 102, or go for an external jobbie such as Stageline or the Tom Evans Microgroove, which ive heard good things about. 102 to be upgraded at end of year / next year BTW.

Also, the prefix/HC is given a hearty thumbs up but can i use a prefix with a Roksan as i thought it bolted onto LP12 chassis? I know one member has a prefix with an Orbe??

What advantages are any of these against putting a K or S stright into my preamp?

Any assistance much appreciated. Rest of system is CDX/XPS, NAT 02, 102/HC, 250x2, B&W N804 on 2 x FRAIM.

Lee,

Have a look for a good Roksan Artaxerxes. I use one for my Roksan Xerxes.

Last time I had a look on Midland Audio exchange's website they were selling one.

K boards are pretty bloody good actually - would these be the choice for a Ko' over the S, anyone?

This is not first hand knowledge but I understand that a prefix can be used with a Roksan but a little bit of modification is required to the prefix to enable it to fit.

Cheers
