Powerigel

Posted by: Juliandowd on 12 February 2005

A few months ago I started this topic:

http://forums.naim-audio.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/48019385/m/480100362/r/143104682#143104682

Now I installed a Powerigel 11 in my system.
Everything changed.
What a improvement.
One of the best upgrades I did the last years.

Best regards

JD

Hi JD,
I remember chatting with you about my "beta phase" with the Igel. Glad to hear that you confirm my findings. I wouldn't want to go back (or sideways), and am very happy with the cute little animal...

cheers

It is a hydra. I had one last year. It didnt do anything in my system so I sold it.

Powerigel is a product of the Naim distributor in Germany (musicline).

The benefits of the product are given in the previous link

I don't have one (I do have 2 separate 10mm spurs though) so I can't tell you the benefits.

Juliandowd,
will you eventually tell us about the SNAIC that you successfully bought on ebay (leaving me with empty hands Frown) ?

All being said about above the PowerIgel is right: Sort of hydra, sold only in Germany (which makes kinda sense because of the power connector used). Price range (depending on the number of power cords) between 600-800 EUR.

Sound benefits in spades.

cheers,
Stefan

It is available in the UK as well. Contact musicline via their web site and they will refer you to their UK distributor.

However I would reiterate that in my system it made no improvements whatsoever.

Dear Colleagues,

I recently started this thread,
http://forums.naim-audio.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/48019385/m/55910812/r/55910812#55910812

I'm still not convinced that users in Switzerland, Germany or maybe other non-UK countries do really get THE original Naim power cord - the cord types suggested in the replies do not match the cords I got with my Naim gear (Mind you I'm using Audio Agile for quite some time now)

So I'm not surprised, that UK Naimies get no improvements by changing their original Naim cords.
However, for us "Continentals" the story is probably different: If the PowerIgel does indeed use original Naim cords, it could well impove over the stuff we get here.
So far I haven’t received any feedback from Naim regarding the type of power cord delivered with their gear outside UK.

Regards

Urs

Hi Stefan,
what do you want to know about that?

Hi, JD,
I just wanted to know about your findings after you exchanged the grey SNAIC with the black one you've bought. I followed the auction, but was only prepared to spend less money than the final price, also, because I normally only buy things after auditioning.

So, please report about your findings, and help me to make a decision on upcoming ebay auctions...

Thanks !

Hi Stefan,
sorry, for what I do now in this forum, but my englisch is not as good to describe the differences between the grey and the black snaic.

P.S.: What is about the "Private Topic Feature" in this Forum. Was it vanished? I can´t find it?

Thanks, Fred !
If you like, put your findings (once you've received the black 4 Pin Snaic) into a German language mail to "sjust at borland dot com"

Ebenfalls schönen Gruß !
Stefan

Fred,

Private Topics were removed as part of Adam's forum overhaul.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
