ATC active 10-2

Posted by: Paul B on 01 April 2004

I would appreciate any comments regarding experiences with this speaker or the larger active 20-2. Unfortunately I know of ATC only by reputation and I am interested in their performance characteristics particularly in comparison to Naim speakers.

Thanks.

I have Active 10s (aka 10-2s). Had them for about a year, no intention of changing except perhaps one day to replace them with Active 20s. They're fantastic all-round speakers, extremely faithful to the source (which needs to be good).

There was a thread recently about ATC vs. active SBLs:

Agree with the above.
I had a Naim setup which was good but had an ongoing problem finding speakers to suit my plasterboard room (new house syndrome).
Listened to a pair of 10's at Signals, Ipswich,
got a CA2 cheap, bought a pair of 10's from Sigmals and am sa happy as can be. They are an incredible setup, but he speakers crave a good open-framed stand (Kan II's seem to be popular).
Lastly, I know many users (including ATC) say the cables don't matter but they do - I settled on some TMC's from Oz and they make a huge difference.
