Kids & Hifi don't mix

I almost murdered the kids last month when one of them decided to invert one of the tweeters with a finger on my brand new Rega Juras. Luckily no long term damage done. I'm sure that other forum members must have discovered that hifi and kids (even SWMBOs) don't go together, what horror stories are there out here?

The best advice I've ever seen for mixing kids and expensive hi fi comes from Naim dealer and all - 'round cool guy Gene Rubin. I followed his suggestions with my now - 6 year old daughter and have never had a problem. She likes listening to Daddy's stereo (although she thinks sitting down to listen to music is weird) and has never messed with the gear. I showed her how to use the Naim remote to change CD tracks and adjust the volume. I suppose it helps that I am lucky enough to have a dedicated listening room so the gear is less tempting.

When she gets a little older I'm going to give her my old Nait 3 and Rega Planet and an inexpensive pair of speakers, maybe Epos 3s.
