Fraim the Brain and Scorn the Brawn?

I have a total of six boxes in my system. If I were to Fraim all of them and create two stacks (so as to separate brain from brawn) I am looking at a small fortune.
However, I am sure that the CD player, for example, will benefit from being Fraimed far more than, say, the power amps. So for a relatively modest outlay I could Fraim the CD player and preamp and keep the remainder on Corraim (Ikea Corras) for the time being.
Has anyone experimented with Fraiming only certain parts of their system like this? Perhaps someone has already established a hierarchy of components which benefit most from being Fraimed?
