flatcap 2: on top or underneath
Posted by: kj burrell on 01 April 2004
After lenghty equivocation, a fc 2 is on the way. Having worried about buying it I can now fret about positioning. I've got three shelves on a cheap and cheerful IKEA rack. Top shelf, Rega P 3, next down CD5, bottom Nait5. None of the shelves are wide enough for more than one item and I'm now skint. The fc is, for now, going to have to share a shelf, maybe with a few cut up squash balls and a bit of wood to give some modicum of insulation.
So, do I:
1) put the fc under the Rega
2) Put the fc under the cd5
3) put the fc under the nait
4) put the cd5/nait together and give the fc its own shelf?
5) put the nait under the turntable
6) put the cd5 under the turntable
7) sell all of the above and get a nice little Denon for £300 and learn to live within my means
The shelving will be sorted eventually, but not until after the summer at the earliest, so best short term solutions please. And please don't tell me I should've spent the money on shelves: I don't want to hear!
And while I'm at it, which source for which bit of kit? A to nait or A to cd?
Refs to any previous threads where this has been discussed welcomed: I'm sure the older forum mebers must get a Groundhog Day feeling some days when they log on.
Cheers
