snaics n ladders!

hi guys,
am going for a s-cap for my 82/180 soon and am thinking about connections. am i right in thinking i will need 2x snaic5 leads??
and do you think its worth buying new leads or 2nd hand on say e bay?? are the new leads going to help in the quality of the sound.
has anyone done this? what do you think.

Yes you will need two Snaics.
Black ones are supposed to be better than the older Grey ones, other than that there is something to be said for buying 2nd hand since the cable will be fully "burned in".

Are the newer ones black? My new CDX2 came with a grey SNAIC, so honestly, I'm not that sure. Unless they packed mine with an old SNAIC and newly styled (and more economical, two instead of four batteries) Narcom to compensate Big Grin . Hopefully someone can clear this up Smile .

Thanks for the explanation. Although I thought SNAIC 5's were the power interconnects + signal and SNAIC 4's were the signal interconnects. Guess I figured wrong Wink .
