SplashDVD.com goes into liquidation

Posted by: Dave J on 16 March 2004

The prices seemed to good to be true and regrettably they appear to have taken my payment (surprise, suprise) on the 5th March and filed for liquidation on the 9th.

I suffered too, they took my money on the 4th Frown

I have already informed the CC company about the transaction so hopefully I won't be out of pocket.

I'm not sure what the legal position is but I don't think they would be entilted to take your payment before despatching the CD.

Hi

I never liked their service they had a habit of billing your credit card immediately the order was placed. I waited for weeks for somethinhg that was "out of their stock", only to find it appearing on my credit card statement.

CD-Wow and Play.com are much slicker, have better stock and prices.

Hi Chris,

This was the first time I had use them, having seen them recommended here. I normally use Play or one of the others - I was suckered by their cheaper prices in this instance.

Me too, but the post has been erased forever by infopop!

Do I detect a conspiracy here...

I like Play a lot, very reliable, but I find their stock to be far from comprehensive, so Splash must have been strictly a Snorah/Xtina affair ...

No, I ordered Stars Die by Procupine Tree. Well, they claimed they had it anyway.

And I'd ordered Prefuse 73, not quite Snorah....

Same experience here. They took my money for something they didn't have in stock. When I contacted them after 3 weeks they couldn't even give me an eta. To be fair though I did get a refund very quickly.

IME CD-WOW & Amazon provide good service.
