CD5i DIN/RCA Simultaneous Output?
Posted by: tubelistener on 22 April 2004
I know the CD5i has both DIN and RCA outputs. Is it possible to use both simultaneously, the DIN connected directly to a NAIT5i and the RCAs to an older tube amp I own? This will allow easier switching between the two amps while still utilizing the same source. I was told that the CD5i had an internal switch that you could select between DIN or RCA, but can that switch be set to drive both outputs?

I know you can on the CDX2 as i have the din going to a 282 and the phono going to a tube headphone amp working as you describe...
if you go to the following link it has all the naim manuals so you might find the answer there

Another question about the CD5i: What formats does he play? I hear; CD/CD-r/CD-rw/ but also MP3? or sometings else more
And how are your experients for so far with the CD5i?

The meaning of the symbols is pretty obvious. "O" is DIN and "oo" is RCA. "O oo" is both.
Shouldn't the big "O" have 5 dots in it, and the small "o"s have 1 dot?

(how we larfed!)

Naim will tell you for optimum sound quality to only select one output type. I think it can be done via the handset though, so this shouldn't prove to be an obstacle.
