I really like the idea of this machine for my office. Does anyone here have one? What's the quality of the coffee pods like?

Please don't.
I have just spent the last week in the company of my friend in Holland and he was going overboard about this thing.
The coffee it produces is rank rotten.
Please do yourself a big favour and buy an espresso machine and some Illy.
You don't have to spend a fortune on one either to produce decent results. I have a Briel Chaminoix (?sp) and it is superb. Recommended to me by the staff of Whitards's.

I agree but repeat my plea for a source of Kimbo espresso - just because it made a great cup of coffee, reliably.
With good coffee - I find I have one (large) cup a day, avoiding all inferior attempts for the rest of the day. Starbucks - the worst thing about American diners was the inexhaustible supply of cowboy "coffee".

I bought one for my parents at Xmas. I think the coffee is even worse than the filter they used to make. They love it!
I had almost stopped drinking coffee until I bought a decent (Gaggia) machine, and now really enjoy my morning cup again.

So chaps, is the problem the design of the machine, or the coffee pods, or a bit of both?
Posted on: 15 February 2005 by long-time-dead
In my opinion both.
The design uses pods. I doubt it possible to be able to tamp the coffee to the "correct" pressure.
The machine does not seem able to operate at a decent pressure.
Think of it as a modern designed coffee-bag drip machine.

I have had a Krupps machine for ages and it's great (makes a nice cup of coffee, solid build and fairly cheap). I think Illy coffee is the best we can get in the UK by a long way TBH.
